Cellophane is a kind of packaging material often used for packaging cigarette boxes, but why choose cellophane? Because the cigarette box after cellophane wrapping can play a role in dustproof, moisture-proof and anti-counterfeiting.

Cellophane film

Why use cellophane?

Cellophane is a thin, transparent and glossy film made of regenerated cellulose. It is made from chopped wood pulp and treated with caustic soda. The viscose is then extruded into a bath of dilute sulfuric acid and sodium sulfate to regenerate cellulose. It is then washed with glycerin, purified, bleached and plasticized to prevent the film from becoming brittle. A layer of PVDC coatings are usually applied to both sides of the film to provide better moisture and gas barrier properties and to make the film heat-sealable.

Coated cellophane has low gas permeability and good resistance to oil, grease and water. It also provides a moderate moisture barrier.

Advantages of cellophane:

Low cost— Cellophane has been around since 1912, and it is a by-product of the paper industry. Compared with other environmentally friendly plastic alternatives, cellophane has a lower cost.

Moisture-proof— Biodegradable cellophane resists moisture and water vapor, making it an excellent choice for displaying and storing products.

Oil resistant— They naturally resist oils and fats, so cellophane are very suitable for baked goods, nuts and other greasy foods.

Can be heat sealed— Cellophane can be heat sealed. With the professional cigarette pack wrapping machine, you can heat seal quickly and easily.
